According to The Bead Hold website (2021a), The Bead Hold is a New Zealand based company in Taranaki, and is owned and operated by Nia Chesswas. They opened in Auckland in 2004 and in 2013 relocated. Their online shop has over 7000 items. Customers can shop 24/7 and items are shipped on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week.  They have a grand total of 3 wonderful and busy staff members, who are all female. 

The business has a fantastic 'family friendly vibe' they share photos of their families, and give information about themselves that is authentic and relatable. 

They sell:  Beads, Findings, Wires, Threads, Kitsets, Tools, Jewellery, and other  miscellaneous craft items. 

Beads range in price from as little as $0.60c (NZD), to $14.00. Other findings are around the same prices and the most expensive craft kits on the site go for $32.00, and tools can be anywhere from $17.50 to $115.00. 

Social Media: 

They Have a decent following on Facebook, for a business of its size. However their post engagement level could be performing better. The content that gains the most attention on their Facebook seems to be projects like the one below.

Summary of strengths and weaknesses: 

Strengths:

  • Large amount of stock – lots of different options for customers (The Bead Hold, 2021a). 
  • Laybuy/different payment methods available on website (The Bead Hold, 2021a).
  • $6 flat rate shipping throughout New Zealand for all orders. Parcels are tracked (Shipping and FAQ’s, 2021). 
  • Email Marketing is used well (Personal Communication, 2021)


Weaknesses: 

  • Some products imported can cause staining on skin, e.g., ring bases, some earring findings etc (Personal Communication, 2020)
  • Presence on social media smaller than competitors, could be doing better.
  • No services offered like beading classes, or party entertainment options etc (The Bead Hold, 2021a)

The Bead Hold is a Bead/craft store located in Taranaki New Zealand, they sell beads, findings, tools, threads, and more. They have over 7000 products listed on their online shop.  Based on the research from Assessment 1, I created this landing page to convert our buyer persona Jaki (which can be seen below!)
